In order to be considered eligible for inclusion in the Police Blue Nation Guidelines, Nominees or Members must have suffered from wounds, illness, or injuries incurred in the line of duty after March 1, 2016 and received, or are expected to receive, at least a 30 percent disability rating from a medically approved authority for one of the following conditions:

  • Blindness or severe loss of vision.
  • Loss of limb.
  • Burns or permanent disfigurement.
  • Paralysis/Spinal cord injury.
  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI).
  • Fatal or incurable disease with limited life expectancy less than a year.

– OR

Any other condition, approved by the Police Blue Nation Board, that incapacitates the Officer and causes exceptional monetary assistance for his or her care; and to assist in providing support for his/her immediate family.
